Ruby's been getting a lot of practice with the pinatas at the numerous birthday parties so far this year. At the consulate posada, you could tell she'd been improving her techniques as she worked out some pre-holiday frustrations with the stick.
I had totally forgotten about that, Jamie! Yes I did, in Texcoco, when the adults had swung the pinata so much that the kids swatting at it were exhausted. They didn't even come close to breaking it open. So after about a half hour of watching this (and two, three, maybe four tequilitas), I walked up and ripped it in half, spilling the candy for all the eager kids. That was hilarious, although I'm not sure the parents appreciated my ruining their fun at the kids' expense....
Maybe its genetic - didn't Mike tell me a story about destroying a Barney pinata at some party while doing the diss research?
